I began my path toward the independent living movement with my education, completing my bachelor’s degree in Social Work in the spring of 2020. I then moved into counseling and advocacy observing a variety of populations. During this time I had the opportunity to work with people living with disabilities and found it extremely rewarding to be an advocate for them as they worked towards various goals. Looking to get more involved with this particular community I applied to work with Adlib. I now am very happy to be helping people transition out of nursing home facilities and enjoy their independence. Seeing people I work with overcome obstacles and find ways to live their lives to the fullest is deeply rewarding and I always feel honored to be a part of each person’s journey.
